LITTER CREW PROGRAM OFF TO GOOD START

The newly formed Litter Pick-Up Crew, which is supervised by Morristown City Police Officer Jonathan Maxey, is off to a good start removing debris from city streets and other public areas.  This program is a joint effort between the Morristown Police Department and the Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office to help enhance the appearance of our community.  The Litter Crew has removed several hundred pounds of litter from streets, right-of-ways, and city owned properties.  They have also performed several hours of grounds maintenance work at the municipal airport and City Center building. The Litter Crew Coordinator receives requests from city elected officials, city personnel, citizens and area business owners.  These requests are routed through the MPD Operation’s Division for prioritizing and scheduling.

Anyone visiting the downtown shopping area will find a positive noticeable difference in the areas appearance as this area has been scheduled to continuously receive attention from the work crew.

Citizens who wish to report areas of concern may comment on Facebook email the Morristown Police Department at jmaxey@mymorristown.com or mail their concerns to Litter Crew Program c/o Morristown Police Department P.O. Box 1283 Morristown, TN 37816.
