Inspections

The Inspections Department of the City of Morristown is responsible for construction and codes enforcement activities in the city. Department personnel include two licensed building inspectors, one licensed plumbing inspector, one licensed electrical inspector, and support staff. The major activities of the department are plans review, issuance of building permits, and on-site inspection to assure compliance of all construction projects with city regulations. The department issues all sign permits, interprets various city codes, and enforces the zoning and building regulations adopted by the city. The department also serves as staff for the Morristown Board of Zoning Appeals
