The Department's K-9 Unit is supervised by Lieutenant Dan Cliff. Lt. Cliff and K-9 Vic, Officer Clyde Short and K-9 Robbye, along with Officer Billy Gulley and K-9 Eryck, Officer Pete Shockley and K-9 Ricco are an integral part in the Departments fight against illegal drugs. In February 2001 the Morristown Police purchased two dual purpose Malanois and July 2001 a third to be utilized in the search of drugs, tracking of suspects, building and ground searches along with felony apprehension. The officers and their K-9's are assigned to monthly rotating patrol shifts.


Lieutenant Cliff's K-9, Vic is trained to detect explosives with the Explosive Ordinance Detection Unit (EOD).
