COVID-19 poses a serious risk to public health.  To slow the spread of the virus and practice proper social distancing, the City of Morristown will no longer be able to conduct business in person at the City Center. All City offices are closed to the public effective 5:00 pm Wednesday March 25, 2020 until further notice.

Offices will be staffed and City services are available online or over the phone. See the listings below for various City service resources.

You are highly urged to keep all travel and business functions to only the most essential needs to protect those most vulnerable to the disease, slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, and preserve local healthcare capacity.

  • Car Seat installation checks have been suspended at this time.
  • CPR classes are not being offered at this time.

Crash Reports:

  • Crash reports will temporarily be obtainable from the MPD at no cost by email until May 11th.
  • For accidents that you were involved in that are filed with the MPD, email with the following information:
    • Copy or photo of your driver’s license or ID
    • Date of the crash
    • Case number (if you have it)
    • Last name of the driver involved
  • Crash reports may also be purchased online through the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security through their portal at .

  • Spring athletics are currently suspended until further notice.
  • All Parks & Recreation activities and scheduled events have been cancelled through  April.


  • All park restrooms, shelters, playgrounds, and athletics fields/courts are closed.
  • City Parks will remain open for passive leisure activities such as walking or jogging. Paved trails and disc golf courses are open as well as open green spaces to enjoy a picnic or family time. 
  • Talley Ward Recreation Center is closed and programming has been cancelled.
  • Civic Park is closed.
