The Patrol division is an important component of the organization. The officers serve the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is accomplished with rotating shifts. In 2014, the department implemented 12-hour shifts; there is an average of 13 officers, including supervisors working per shift.
Patrol units are responsible for patrolling 319 miles of roadway to serve and protect the community, and serve as ambassadors to the community. The Patrol Division continues to place a strong emphasis on community involvement and ensuring the quality of law enforcement services provided are of the highest standard.
It is the Patrol Division's mission to protect the rights of persons within the department's jurisdictional limits to be free from criminal attack, to be secure in their possessions and to live in peace.
