“The Morristown Police Department partnering with the Morristown Area Chamber of Commerce have developed a program to address the effects of drug abuse on the lives and careers of the citizens of our community. The project, which is a part of the Three Star Grant Program from the State of Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development, is aimed at encouraging public safety, education, and workforce development in Tennessee. Trained officers present a program “Saving Lives” to students and adults in area schools, colleges and technical programs about the detrimental effects of using drugs in order to educate those preparing to enter the workforce of the potential impact it could have on their careers and livelihoods.”
