Cpl. Pierce Receives Superior Service Award

The Morristown Police Department recognized Corporal Diana Pierce with the Superior Service Certificate during this month’s Command Staff meeting.  Corporal Pierce was awarded for the work that she has done with Codes Enforcement.

The Superior Service Certificate is an award given to department personnel who exhibit continued performance of duty in an exemplary manner, or perform an act or acts of intelligent and valuable service that far exceeds normal expectations.

Since becoming Codes Enforcement Officer in April 2014, she has helped to streamline paperwork and rewrite several city ordinances which helped to get properties that were non-compliant cleaned more quickly and efficiently.

In addition to her Codes Enforcement duties, Corporal Pierce helps supervise the Support Services division, works additional saturation patrol for DUIs and helps patrol when needed.  She has served with the Morristown Police Department since February 2008.  Corporal Pierce also serves on the Child Abuse Sexual Exploitation Unit (CHASE) and Forensics Team.

Chief Roger Overholt stated, “community appearance issues are important to citizens’ overall quality of life and I appreciate the work Corporal Pierce has done in this difficult assignment”.
